The River City Men’s and Women’s Choruses under the direction of Wayne Bailey. Each year the group presents concerts to promote a local charity. Admission is free, however donations are collected at the end of each concert with 100% of the collections being donated to the chosen non-profit. This year the chosen charity is Northeast Florida Chapter of C.O.P.S. (Concerns Of Police Survivors), helping families of police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Vega String Quartet

The Vega String Quartet, Quartet-in-Residence at Emory University, is cultivating a new generation of chamber music lovers through dynamic performances and innovative community engagement. The New York Times raved that "[the Quartet’s] playing had a kind of clean intoxication to it, pulling the listener along…the musicians took real risks in their music making" and the L.A. Times praised their “triumphant L.A. debut.” Friday Musicale will be Co-Hosting this concert with Prelude Chamber Music.

Music @ Main Sunday Intermezzo Season Finale with pianist Joshua Ross

Among the winners of the 2013 American Protégé International Competition of Romantic Music, pianist Joshua Ross made his Carnegie Hall debut in Weill Recital Hall in February 2014, with a repeat performance in June 2016. He holds a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Georgia, where he studied with Dr. Martha Thomas, and a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from The Florida State University, where he studied with Dr. Heidi Louise Williams. He also studied with Dr. James Nalley, performed and studied at the 2008 Schlern Music Festival, in Vols am Schlern, Italy, and has played in master classes for renowned pianists Angela Cheng, Natsuki Fukasawa, David Northington, and Richard Cionco, among others. Cello Recital: Victor Minke Huls

Kick off the weekend with a cello recital in the beautiful sanctuary at Saint Paul’s By the Sea Episcopal in Jacksonville Beach. At the reception we’ll be doing some easy swing dancing and the ever-popular “Sasha” contra dance. Music @ Main Intermezzo Concerts presents Cliff Newton, trumpet & Friends

Cliff Newton retired from the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra after 32 years as Principal Trumpet. Currently, in addition to teaching he performs as soloist with the Belle Fleur String Quartet, and the Palm Court Society Orchestra. He is co-founder and an active member and of the Ancient City Brass Band, as well as of The One Step Ahead of the Law Brass Band (Edelweiss Piraten), a polka/oompah ensemble.
Presented monthly (Sept.-June), Intermezzo concerts are free and open to the public, and reservations are not required. Free parking is available.
