Pergolesi Vespers: Stabat Mater
Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, an emotional song of the weeping mother at the foot of the cross, will be conducted from the organ console by Director of Music Zeek Smith, featuring soprano Adina Diehl and countertenor Hector Smith, and with violinists Timothy Edwards and Edward Latimer, violist Joseph Henderson, and cellist Alexander Downs. The service is free and open to the public. Offerings collected at the conclusion of the service will support the music program at San Jose Episcopal.

Dr. Scott Watkins, Professor of Piano, presents his recent research on American composer Howard Hanson in this unique lecture-recital featuring rare photographs of the composer from his earliest days as Dean of the College of the Pacific Conservatory of Music. Watkins’ presentation concludes with Hanson’s recently discovered “Symphonic Rhapsody” on the 100th anniversary of the work’s premiere.
