David earned a bachelor of music degree at the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, Ohio, majoring in voice. Since returning to this city in 1986, he has become one of the most sought-after soloists in the area, singing repertoire ranging from oratorio and operatic arias to Broadway show tunes. Among the ensembles he has appeared with are the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, the River City Band and the Chancel Choir of Riverside Presbyterian Church.

In memoriam: President John F. Kennedy

Saint John's Cathedral Choir commemorates the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy with a concert featuring Herbert Howell's masterpiece Take Him, Earth, for Cherishing, which was composed for Kennedy's memorial service. November 22 also happens to be the 100th birthday of composer Benjamin Britten and the feast day of St. Cecilia, the program includes music by Britten as well as Howell's A Hymn to St. Cecilia. The program is rounded out with works by Orlando Gibbons, C. H. H. Parry, Charles Stanford, John Rutter, Christopher Tye, Arvo Part, William Walton, and others. Freewill offering.

Toured as soloist, a member of the chamber group and accompanist to major cities of the former Soviet Union, as well as Italy and the U.S. She also performed concerti with the Azerbaijan State Symphony and Chamber Orchestras and recorded for Azerbaijan State Radio and Twenty-First Century Studios in Jacksonville, Florida.

Tuesday Serenade, with TGIF

Jacksonville Public Library is hosting a free program of music featuring Navy Band Southeast’s New Orleans-style Dixieland group, TGIF.
Boasting a long tradition of feel-good music throughout the Southeast, TGIF arose from performances at various Navy commands on Friday afternoons, in the “Thank Goodness It’s Friday” spirit. Now, every day is Friday! This high-energy, seven-piece ensemble promises a toe-tappin’, hand-clappin’ smile-fest that is sure to brighten your evening.
Tuesday Serenade concerts are presented in the Hicks Auditorium on the Conference Level of the Main Library. Concertgoers are encouraged to use the Main Street entrance, because the Laura Street entrance closes at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays.

    First Coast Wind Ensemble: Music of Robert Sheldon

    A 60-member community music organization led by conductors Artie Clifton and Don Zentz. The concert will feature the music of award-winning American composer Robert Sheldon. His 200 compositions for wind band are some of the most performed works in American music education. The concert will also feature the music of William Grant Still, James Weldon Johnson, Leonard Bernstein, Brian Balmages and Terig Tucci.
